CLAIMS CONFERENCE ON JEWISH CLAIMS AGAINST GERMANY

The Bikur Cholim Holocaust Survivors Assistance Program together with the Claims Conference on Jewish Claims Against Germany offers assistance in the form of essential social services for Holocaust survivors in extreme financial need.

Some of these items include in-home services, medical services, food, transportation, and case management/patient advocacy.

In 2007 Bikur Cholim was awarded an allocation in the amount of $50,000 by the Claims Conference for Holocaust survivors with the stipulation that these funds be used for the neediest victims of Nazi persecution.

Bikur Cholim does not receive any money in advance from the Claims Conference, but is reimbursed for payments that are made in accordance with their terms and conditions.

This program should not be confused with reparations such as Wiedergutmachung or similar payments, and is not a set monthly stipend or entitlement.

Beneficiary eligibility, amount, and duration is subject to the terms and conditions set forth by the Claims Conference. Bikur Cholim works closely with Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles to ensure that all beneficiaries are treated equitably and that assistance is not duplicated.

Bikur Cholim’s Holocaust Survivors Assistance Program maintains an Advisory Board all of whom are chosen for their sensitivity and understanding of Jewish issues in general, and the Holocaust in particular.
